Global Indexes
S&P 500
Profit taking stepped in and the S&P 500 opened the new year with an uncertain doji just below its EMA8 line.
DAX
The DAX also opened the new year uncertain with a high wave candle. It did manage to stay above its EMA8 line.
HANG SENG
The factory activity contraction is weighing on the HANG SENG. It opened below its EMA8 line today in all negative territory again.
NYSE & NASDAQ Stocks
Apple
Apple started its correction with a long-legged doji against top resistance. The downgrading by Barclays caused a gap and a close below its 50 DMA.
Merck Co Inc
Merck boosted the Dow to open the year with a positive move.
JSE Stocks
JSE All Shares
The JSE All Shares also opened 2024 bearish with and engulfing bear candle.
OLD Mutual
We showed the window dressing of OLD Mutual last day. It opened with a P1 Power signal and a MACD that changed color downwards this year.
