Global Indexes
S&P 500
With another gain the S&P 500 is another step closer to its 200 day moving average and long term negative trend lines just above.
DAX
Although it closed positive, the DAX made a hammer candle against its negative trend line..
HANG SENG
With all the delisting’s on the horizon, the HANG SENG is not sure about direction and is trending sideways around its EMA8 line.
NYSE & NASDAQ Stocks
Livent Corp
Livent Corp is also fast approaching its top resistance. Although the MACD is a lagging indicator, it still gives good confirmation signals. Notice how the turn took place. We had 2 hammer candles followed by a breakaway gap and then the MACD signal line signal.
Apple Inc
The MACD has the ability to keep you in a trend, but you can also get false signals. I am racing against time to finish lesson 12 to explain all before I leave for 2 weeks. Apple is a good example where the MACD is staying with the trend.
JSE Stocks
JSE All Shares
A MACD signal on strong support helps to eliminate false signals. The JSE All Shares is a good example of this and the current trend is not broken yet.
Exxaro Resources Limited
The MACD does not work well in sideways markets. Exxaro Resources is a good example of this, but do notice the exit signal against top resistance after a strong trend.
